As every year, at the beginning of Lent, Benedict XVI will be meeting in the Vatican the clergy working in the pastoral service of the diocese of Rome. The meeting will take place on Thursday 7th February at 11 am in Aula delle Benedizioni. "This event writes card. Camillo Ruini, vicar of the Pope for the diocese of Rome, in the letter sent for the occasion to all the priests and deacons involved in the pastoral service in the diocese of Rome will give us again the joy of meeting our Bishop and the opportunity to talk to him about the problems of the life and pastoral of our diocese, as well as, more widely, of the evangelising mission of the Church in today’s society". The meeting, according to a tradition that has been established over the years of John Paul II’s papacy recalls the diocese will have a conversational approach, with the priests being able to ask questions to the Pontiff. The subjects that card. Ruini brought to the priests’ attention include the big challenge of Christian education, as mentioned in Benedict XVI’s letter to the diocese on January 21st, "which is also the focus of our pastoral program", the book named "Jesus of Nazareth" and the recent encyclical, "Spe salvi".
