CHINA: HOLY SEE, THE COMMISSION INSISTS ON "WANTING RESPECTUL AND EFFECTIVE DIALOGUE" (2)

The important issues that were on the agenda and "that concern the mission of the Church of being ‘an instrument of salvation’ for the Chinese people, included: evangelisation in a world living in globalisation; the application, in the current situation of China, of the doctrine of the Second Vatican Council on the nature and the structure of the Church; forgiveness and reconciliation within the Catholic community; the needs of truth and charity; the governance of the dioceses, which is very important for pastoral work and the training of priests, seminarians, religious men and women and lay devotees". Finally. also in the light of the Papal Document, the participants exchanged information and experiences about the life and work of the Church in China. The assembly ended with a meeting with the Holy Father, who encouraged the participants "to keep working for the Catholic community in China". He also mentioned the date of 24th May 2008, the World Day of Prayer for the Church in China.
