One by one, she said goodbye to her mates who had seen her along her adventure since the time of Trento. Then slowly, all along the night, hundreds of people went to her house, into her room, even if just to tell her "thank you". The last hours lived by Chiara Lubich are told by Michel Vandeleene, theologian and editor of the book called "Erano i tempi di guerra", who also announced that the funeral will be held on Tuesday at 3 pm in the Basilica of San Paolo Fuori le Mura. "The last month tells Vandeleene Chiara had been hospitalised, at Gemelli in Rome. There she had been able to write a lot of letters and take important decisions about her Movement. She had also received a letter from the Holy Father that she read over and over again and which comforted her". "A few days ago, she had repeatedly expressed the wish to go back home, and the day before yesterday at night she had been taken home, because her end seemed impending". "Yesterday morning, after hearing Holy Mass and receiving the Eucharist, she wanted to see her mates one by one, her first collaborators and other members of the Movement. She was conscious and she could see them, meet them". Then at night her health got worse "and there goes on Vandeleene something wonderful and moving happened". (continued)
