Today, Holy Friday, in the Vatican Basilica at 5 pm, the Pope will officiate the celebration of the Passion of the Lord, followed at 09.15 pm by the Way of the Cross at the Coliseum. The Pope will leave the Vatican a few minutes before 9, to reach the Coliseum, where the Way of the Cross will begin. Benedict XVI will be driven to the Palatine, from where he will attend the whole celebration. This year, the meditations of the Way of the Cross have been written by card. Joseph Zen Ze-kiun, 76 years old, archbishop of Hong Kon, and will be read by the actress Paola Pitagora and the Vatican speaker Orazio Coclite. The tradition of holding the Way of the Cross within the Coliseum was resumed in 1959 by John XXIII. The celebration in the Coliseum will be broadcast live by RaiUno (9.10 pm), Sat2000 (9.07 pm) and RadioUno (9.05 pm).
