"We are anxiously waiting for mgr. Rahho to be freed. He is sick and needs medical care and cannot bear being abducted for too long. We expect our appeal will be listened to". The Apostolic Nuncio to Iraq and Jordan, mgr. Francis Chullikat, is asking again for the release of the archbishop of Mosul who was abducted on 29 February. "We can only pray", states to SIR the diplomat of the Holy See who asks "to be cautious about the spreading of news about the ransom and the requests made by the abductors because this could endanger the life of mgr. Rahho, who is a friend of the Muslims and works for reconciliation and peace in the country, not for conflict. We must insist asking for his release". (continued) (dnr)
