Therefore, there was the request "to consent to the immediate entrance in Tibet and nearby regions of United Nations inspectors and other independent observers; to put an end to arbitrary arrests, intimidations and threats against activists; not to apply punishing kinds of administrative detention; to allow all journalists to operate with full freedom in every part of China; to release all conscience prisoners; to reduce the number of crimes for which there is death penalty, as first step towards its abolishment". Among other things, the new Report (called "China: the Olympics countdown crackdown on activists threatens Olympics legacy") proves the excessive use of force by authorities against demonstrators and activists for human rights, fighting against the spreading of torture and other kinds of violence in Tibet, and information black-out.
