"Milan has a top-level industrial history behind its shoulders. In recent years, the production structure changed. An exhibition of this kind is a very good opportunity on the business level; however, definitely, EXPO 2015 cannot limit itself to that only". Father Raffaello Ciccone is in charge of the Service for social life and work at the diocese of Milan: he commented the news of the day for SIR. "Usually, Milan tends not to boast about its treasures of art and culture, however innumerable as they may be. It is a city full of skills and ferment; it knows how to produce research. EXPO may as well be an opportunity to re-launch Milan as representative of Italy in the world scenario. However, we shall also have the opportunity for rereading the moral and intellectual heritage of the whole Italy. It is a great responsibility for Milan people". Then, Father Ciccone recalled that, through the Exhibition, "work and employment should multiply: as for this point, it is always necessary to defend the workers’ dignity". Furthermore, "we shall see Milan, Lombardy, other Italian regions and foreign workers working side by side: it will be very important to join efforts and resources to be even more creative".
