"All the international organisations goes on the Movement admit that child slavery is on the rise in terms of numbers and the extent of exploitation". So, "child slavery has turned into a tool for an international trading war. Children and teenagers are the most vulnerable and least protected group of workers", exploited by powerful multinational corporations. The total abolition of child slavery will be possible if the trade unions and political parties take action. "Child slavery is a moral and political problem" and can be solved by "a policy of solidarity". The Movement’s petition against child slavery was signed by over 60 municipalities of the main Spanish cities and the self-governing parliaments of Catalonia, Madrid, La Rioja and Andalusia. Initiatives will be held in over 30 places in Spain and other cities of Latin America on April 16th.
