"Among the signs against the Gospel of life which can be found in America, as well as elsewhere, there is one causing deep shame: sexual abuse of minors". Doing that, "they betrayed their sacerdotal tasks and obligations". "Your priority is expressing compassion and manifesting support to the victims, and that’s right", said the Pope to the bishops, noticing that "the answer to such situation was not easy and ‘sometimes, it was managed in a very bad way’, as underlined by the president of your Bishops’ Conference.
