"The Catholic media must be a constant presence, a constant company, a proposal for people looking for God": it was stated during the Ceem meeting by the president of the Papal Council for Social Communication, mgr. Claudio Maria Celli. "We must not slip into self-referencing and speak only as Catholics to Catholics he went on , forgetting about the people who are not part of our communities and who are looking for something". It was up to mgr. Celli to tell about the work carried out by the Vatican Ministry that he chairs. It is through a number of works in progress, with a view to 2008, that the prelate sees the Holy See serving the world of communication. It is the training of the pastoral agents of communication; constant dialogue with the university bodies in charge of social communication, in order to understand what the identity and the mission of the social communication faculties of a Catholic university must be; a better knowledge of the Catholic radio stations; renewed commitment to the theological reflection on communication; opening to new forms of international audiovisual realities, such as the young H2Onews; the continuation of the work started by the Latin-American information network Riial; the proposal of the new worldwide telecasting of the highlights of the life of the Church.
