BENEDICT XVI: VIDEO-MESSAGE ON US TRIP, "THE WORLD NEEDS HOPE"

"Do to the others what you want the others to do to you, don’t do what you don’t want them to do to you". According to Benedict XVI, "this ‘golden rule’ is found in the Bible, but it applies to everyone, even to the non-believers. It is the law which is written in human conscience, and around this we can all find ourselves, so that the meeting of our differences will be positive and constructive for the whole human community". Then, he made greetings in different languages: in Spanish, the Pope expressed his "spiritual closeness", especially to "the young, the sick, the elderly and those who are going through a difficult time or feel very low". In English, he ensured: "I so much wish I could come amidst you! You can rest assured that, even if my tour will be short and I will not travel much, my heart will be close to everyone, especially to the sick, the small, the outcasts". "May God bless you! May God bless all of you!", was the Pope’s farewell in his video-message.
