A delicate and brave commitment at the borders for the religious who are fighting human being trade: there are hundreds of them all over the world. From 2001 to present days, they have taken part in ten training courses to learn to listen to and accompany hundreds of women (as well as minors) in their journeys of liberation from slavery with sexual exploitation purposes. The point of the situation, with the objective of strengthening the international network by extending collaborations, will be made from 2nd to 6th June in Rome, during the congress "A network of religious women against human being trade", set up by the International Union of Superiors General (UISG) and IOM (International Organization for Migrations). The event was presented in Rome today. "In the last ten years said Sister Victoria Gonzales de Castejon, secretary of UISG all religious women have been very busy in this field. Now we would like to involve religious men, too, above all, in relation to the work with ‘customers’, because prevention is also very important". It was actually in 2001, through an ultimate declaration during the plenary assembly of UISG, that the Superiors General from all over the world decided to accept the challenge of working for "the dignity of the woman".
