ENGLAND: A PENTECOST FESTIVAL IN THE TUBE

Ten tube stations turned into as many places of mission and announcement of the Gospel. It happens in London, on the Northern Line of the mythical ‘Tube’, between Camden and Waterloo. The initiative, that will take place in the next weekend of Pentecost, is promoted by Case, the Agency for Evangelisation of the Catholic Church of England and Wales and by the actors’ company "Ten ten theatre", who for the occasion will also stage "Chased", by the famous Catholic playwright Martin O’Brien. The schedule of this Pentecost festival, which aims to bring back people who no longer go to Church, includes concerts, plays, sport events, debates, films, dinners, balls. "John Paul II invited the Church on several occasions to work for the new evangelisation – stated Emily Davis –, which is revolutionary in its force, in the means and expressions it uses. The actors of "Ten Ten Theatre" have generously responded to this invitation by putting their gifts at the service of the Gospel. It is a real privilege to work with so many talented Christians to celebrate the birthday of the Church". Concerts will include one by the choir of the Catholic Church of St. Patrick, in Leicester Square, right in the heart of the English capital.
