From 13th to 17th June, the European Christian Internet Conference (Ecic) will meet in Lyons for its thirteenth assembly, which will be named "Challenge 2.0 Communication of the Church and the social network". Over 50 people have signed up, including pastors, webmasters and experts of the new media from all European Churches, to speak of the opportunities and challenges provided by web 2.0 or social web, which offers ever-changing forms of communication, which involve the participation and commitment of individuals and communities. "The online distribution of contents writes Ecic can no longer be kept under control. So, to announce the Gospel more effectively, the communication strategy needs to be adapted. The conference will explore and try to see what web 2.0 means for the Churches and for Christian communication". The agenda includes round tables and exchanges of ecumenical media experiences, which will be presented by means of new technology. For more information: www.ecic.org
