Tonight Jerusalem will host a press conference for the presentation of a 94-page document, which will act as a guideline for the discussions that will be held during the "Global Anglican Future Conference" (Gafcon). The conference an alternative to the Lambeth Conference, which will take place in England in July, under the guidance of the archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams will take place from June 22nd to 29th. According to a release published by the newsroom of "Gafcon", the meeting will be attended by one thousand Anglican leaders from 25 countries, including 280 bishops. The event is supported by the Anglican archbishops of Nigeria, Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, South-America and Sydney (Australia). The text, which will be presented tonight (but which is already available at www.gafcon.org), takes stock of the "recent history of the conflicts that have come into being within the Anglican Communion", mostly caused by gay ordinations and unions, "defines true Anglicanism", and opens to the discussion of the future that the Anglican traditionalists will want to go for. Peter Akinola, archbishop of Abuja, primate of all Nigeria, heads the dissenting movement. (continued)
