"The ecological question: man’s life in the world" is the theme of the International Congress organised by the Pavilion of the Holy See at the International Exhibition of Saragossa (Spain), from today to 12th July. Over 15 international universities and institutions will be at the Congress, which will be opened and closed by card. Renato Raffaele Martino, president of the Papal Council for Justice and Peace. The first day of the Congress will revolve around a reflection on "man’s relationship with the world". Tomorrow will be focussed on "the ecology of nature: the world as an ethical reality for man" with lecturers from India and Lebanon who will deal with this subject from the perspective of Buddhism, Hinduism and Islam. The last day of the Congress will be about "human ecology", in particular "the care of man in his natural life". The Congress is one of the events promoted by the Vatican Pavilion to celebrate the "Day of the Holy See" at the 2008 Expo of Saragossa (14 July).
