(from our correspondents in Australian) – They walk the city streets singing and talking about God to the kids they meet: in Melbourne, during the days when youngsters are being welcomed to the city, this is what WYD is also about. This idea came to a group of youngsters coming from different Polish dioceses, who now see this trip as a calling to testify to their faith with their peers. "When we approach other kids, especially Australians Karolina Sidor told us in perfect English they are not necessarily as cold as most people think and some of them are willing to listen to what we have to say about our faith". "I think that everybody is looking for a meaning in their lives and situations such as these give people the opportunity to do some soul-searching with greater awareness", she added. Lukasz Rzeszow, a university student, said: "I had decided to take part in this event already three years ago". He believes WYD to be a spiritual experience that cannot be missed "because we can meet many other kids and, together, listen to the Pope’s ‘powerful’ words". These Polish kids, who are hosted by Polish families who migrated to Australia, told us they have been welcomed with great affection: once again this WYD allows immigrant families, hosting kids coming from their native countries, to get back in touch with their European roots.
