A Brazilian law as disclosed today by the Catholic agency Aciprensa is trying to promote homosexuality and prohibit the Christian teaching on the subject, under the pretext that discrimination must be fought. The law was approved without a debate by the Chamber of Deputies and now has been submitted to the Senate. According to this bill of law, "preventing recourse to expressions of ‘homosexual affection’ in public or private places open to the public will be considered an offence, punished with five years’ detention. Denying or excluding a homosexual person from a selection for an educational activity will also be considered an offence (three years’ detention). According to the "Asociación de Defensa de la Vida" mentioned by Aciprensa, "in this way, no catholic seminary or evangelical institution will be able to rule out those applicants who declare they are homosexuals". Under this bill of law, any type of moral, ethical, philosophical or psychological expression concerning homosexual practices will be punished with detention. Therefore concludes the association , "those who publicly state that the homosexual practice is a sin, a deviation or a disease can be reported and arrested".
