SYDNEY 2008: AN INTER-RELIGIOUS FESTIVAL ENLIVENED BY THE YOUTH OF FOCOLARE

An inter-religious and intercultural Festival. It will be enlivened on Friday 18th by the young of the Movimento dei Focolari who will be in Sydney for the World Youth Day. About sixty of them, coming from Australia and New Zealand, as well as from the United States, Canada, the Philippines, India and Italy. A young Hindu, a Muslim girl, a young Catholic working for the WCRP (World Conference of Religions for Peace) will give their testimony – states a release – of how "dialogue is being spontaneously and joyfully accomplished at school, in the universities, on the workplace". "We have shared our skills – write the young – to develop a dynamic, varied program. The joy of being able to share our experience with everyone is the strength behind everything. We want to make those who come feel certain that anyone can change the world, anywhere…. And give hope for a better future". As the "key to open dialogue", the "Young for a United World" will propose the "golden rule”: “Do unto others what you would like others to do unto you – as written in the Gospel but shared by the most diverse religions in the world – as the rule of life that can build peace, solidarity, universal brotherhood". The international band Gen Rosso will play at the festival too.” ” ” “
