” “The best-wishes message which the Papal Council for Interreligious Dialogue sent to Muslims, this year, too, at the end of Ramadan, was devoted to the family theme. "The development of the person and of society – it is written in the message signed by the president of the Vatican ministry, Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran, and by the secretary, Archbishop Pier Luigi Celata – mostly depends on the prosperity of the family and conjugal community". For this reason, "Christians and Muslims, we can and we must operate jointly for safeguarding the dignity of the family, today as well as tomorrow". In the message, the Holy See recalls that in this field, Christians and Muslims have often had "the opportunity to collaborate, both on a local and international level", since most of them "have high regard for the family. The family is the place where love and life, respect for the neighbour, and hospitality meet and are conveyed, and is certainly "the fundamental cell of society". (To be continued)
