Meetings with high-school and university students, debates, exhibitions, fairs: many are the initiatives offered by the European Job Days 2008, which, now in their third year, would like to "point out the advantages of working in a different EU country". Last year, the events promoted in the 27 member states had been joined in by 150 thousand people, "looking for a job explains the European Commission , and some of them managed to get an interview straightaway". Apart from any immediate results, the Job Days intend to promote the opportunity to look for and find a job, not only in one’s own country, but all over the continent. In addition, the Days promote Eures, the European professional-mobility portal (http://europa.eu.int/eures/), which directly matches companies looking for specific professional profiles with people looking for a job. The European Days began on September 22nd and will go on through October, but the highlight will be this weekend, from 25th to 28th September. The portal shows all the planned events, state by state.
