THE POPE IN CAGLIARI: PRAYER FOR FAMILIES, YOUTH AND VICTIMS OF THE HAITI HURRICANE

” “”Look at all the families who are tried by difficulties, suffering and poverty: obtain more love for all of them. Oh Virgin come from the sea, look at the young of this land: be their defence and protection!”. This is the special prayer for the families and the youth which the Pope said before the Angelus yesterday. “To Mary – said Benedict XVI during the Marian prayer at the Sanctuary of S. Maria di Bonaria – we now want to entrust again the city of Cagliari, Sardinia, all of its inhabitants, so that the heritage of the evangelical values may be transmitted, whole, to the new generations and so that Christ may reign in the families, the communities and the different spheres of society". Then a thought for all mothers: “Those mothers who, along with their husbands, raise their children in harmonious households, and those mothers who for some reason are alone in facing such a daring task. May them all carry out their daily service, with devotion and faithfulness, in the family, the Church and society". Finally, an appeal to the "beloved populations of Haiti, who over the last few days have been hit by the passage of three short hurricanes. I pray for the victims, who unfortunately are very many, and for the homeless. I sympathise with the whole nation and I hope they will soon receive the aids they need”. ” ” ” “
