Hope

Pope Francis: audience, “hope is the virtue of the little ones, grown-ups do not know it”

“The true story, which will last forever, is the story that God writes with His little ones: God with Mary, God with Joseph, God with Jesus, God with His little ones”, said Pope Francis who ended his general audience today speaking off the cuff as he did for much of his first catechesis on hope. “Hope is the virtue of the little ones”, Pope Francis continued: “grown-ups, those who are full of themselves, do no know it, they do not know what hope is”. “Let us be taught hope!”, Pope Francis exclaimed, addressing a crowd of some 5,000 faithful gathered in the Paul VI Hall, inviting them to repeat those words together with him. “Everyone of us knows in which desert s/he is walking”, he continued: “Hope does not disappoint”.
