Under the theme “Vidacom. Light the torch”, the Diocesan Commission for Ecclesial Communion of Madrid, Spain, will be holding a diocesan vigil for communion on Sunday, 18 March, at 6 p.m. at the centre for social pastoral care of Santa María de Fontarrón. The objective of the Commission, a statement from the Archdiocese of Madrid reads, is to create “spaces and times for community prayer open to all, which really promote and foster communion among all”, as Card. Carlo Osoro suggested in his pastoral proposals in the diocesan plan for evangelisation. In this community meeting, through silence and prayer, “you can receive the Word and the breath of the Spirit who, with his different gifts and charisms, impels us to fulfil the unique mission to which we are called: the kingdom of God and his righteousness”. The event will be attended by the vicar for social pastoral care and innovation, Jose Luis Segovia; the vicar for evangelisation, Carlos Aguilar; and the episcopal vicar of the Vicariate 4, Juan Carlos Merino.
