“To His Holiness Pope Francis: Christ is resurrected, really resurrected! Happy Easter. Easter is the feast making us happy because Jesus Christ resurrected and beat death, and after defeating death, He made the Cross the Cross of Life, safety for all mankind”. Through a video message recorded by SIR at the patriarchal seat in Cairo, Pope Tawadros II, leader of the Orthodox Coptic Church and Patriarch of Alexandria, wished Pope Francis happy Easter; Orthodox Churches will celebrate Easter one week later, on Sunday 8 April, following the Julian calendar. “Happy Easter, Your Holiness. I wish you to feel well, to enjoy good health, and be happy. I always need your prayer for us”. Tawadros also congratulated Pope Francis on the fifth anniversary of the beginning of his pope ministry. “To His Holiness Pope Francis, I am happy to send this message from the land of Egypt. I congratulate you, Your Holiness, on the fifth anniversary of your election. Of your happy and blessed mission, I don’t forget my visit to Rome, two months after your assignment, in May 2013. It was a beautiful visit. We were filled up with the Holy Ghost. I trust your prayers, for us, as we always remember you in our prayers. May the Lord bless your service, your mission and your health; and may the Lord give you a long life”.
