Pope Francis: on 13 October five new saints, including Card. Newman

Five new saints whose decrees have recently been approved will be canonized together, on 13 October, during the Synod for the Pan-Amazon Region. Among them is also Cardinal John Henry Newman, founder of the Oratory of Saint Philip Neri in England, Pope Francis announced in Latin during the Public Consistory for the Canonization of the five new Blesseds. Pope Francis also told cardinals after the celebration of the Terce that among those to be canonised on 13 October, besides Card. Newman, will be Giuseppina Vannini, foundress of the Daughters of Saint Camillus; Maria Teresa Chiramel Mankidiyan, foundress of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Family; Dulce Lopes Pontes, of the Congregation of the Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception of the Mother of God; and Margarita Bays, virgin of the Third Order of Saint Francis of Assisi – the Vatican Press Office reports.
