Terrorist attack
(Brussels) The president of the European Commission, Luxembourg-born Jean-Claude Juncker, voices his dismay and his condolence for the massacre at the Christmas Market in Breitscheidplatz, Berlin: “My thoughts and those of the European Commission go to the families and relatives of those who have been killed and injured in Berlin”, Junker states in an official message. The head of the EU Executive points out: “The fact shocked us even more, because it hit people who had come together to celebrate the holiday season that, for many people, is a time for contemplation and peace. We sympathise with the mourning families and with the countless volunteers and workgroups that are providing their efforts” in these tragic hours.
