About forty people are still hospitalised in St Petersburg, and according to reports by local media, one of the 14 victims has not been identified yet. The authorities are paying for the assistance provided to the families of both the victims and the wounded who come from other regions of the Federation, and a bank account was opened for people to make donations. The Orthodox priests working in the 4 hospitals where the wounded were taken have already paid them a visit. “People are in a state of shock, so we stay close to them. Once we can talk to them, we will try to understand who and what they need”, says one of the priests on the website of the metropolis. Even the diocesan office for charity is offering material and spiritual support to the wounded and the families of the victims. Today at 12, a remembrance service for the victims of the metro attack on 3 April was held at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in St Petersburg. People prayed and also remembered the names of the people who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks on the flight from Sharm El Sheikh to Saint Petersburg on 31 October 2015 and on the train from Moscow to St Petersburg on 27 November 2009. At 8pm tonight, a rally for the victims will take place at the Field of Mars (Marsovo polie). Participants are invited to bring candles and light them so as to form “14:40”, the time when the blast occurred in the underground. The national mourning will continue until tomorrow. Even the website of the city is now in black and white.
