Portugal: Lisbon, “Day for the Eradication of Poverty”

On October 17th, to coincide with the “International Day for the Eradication of Poverty”, the Auditório do Montepio in Lisbon will host a meeting, organised by the Impossible-Passionate Happening association and by the diocese’s Caritas. The initiative, which will be focussed on the theme: “My Precious – Using things – When the world cannot be no one’s”, aims at suggesting “an effective personal life transformation, in the belief that a real reduction of poverty and inequalities depends more on the inner revolution everyone can start than on national rulings or strategies”. Guest speakers at the Forum will include Manuela Ferreira Leite and Paulo Macedo, economists, António Garcia Pereira, judge, António Sampaio, psychiatrist, and Jacinto Lucas Pires, writer.
