Principality of Monaco, “Youth, the Church is listening to you”, initiatives in the run-up to the Synod

“Youth, the Church is listening to you”, so “make your voice, your sensitivity, your faith, as well as your doubts and your criticisms, be heard”: this is the encouragement that the Youth Pastoral service gives to young people aged 16 to 29 who live in the Principality of Monaco, calling them to answer to the 35 questions of a questionnaire, so that they can reach the pastors. And the respondents can also win an iPad. The questions, on a diocesan platform, are a simplified version of the questionnaire launched by the Episcopal Synod in the run-up to the 2018 Youth event and are built around the young Monegasques’ experiences. The Youth Pastoral service actually decided to get ready for the 2018 Synod “by reflecting on the young Monegasques”, with a Synod for the Youth due in Monaco on December 3rd. Once the online answers have been collected, they will be reviewed and reprocessed to understand “young people’s expectations”. Then, in December, the young Monegasques’ meeting will be a festive day but it will also be the time that concrete ideas, processed according to the collected answers, will be submitted. And, on December 3rd, the respondents will be entered into a prize draw to win an iPad. However, the diocesan pastoral service also asks to respond to the survey of the Congregation for the Episcopal Synod at youth.sinod2018.va.
