EU Parliament: institutional campaign in view of 2019 elections. “Thistimeimvoting”, initiative with young people

The campaign aimed at persuading people to vote in the European elections on 23-26 May 2019 (Sunday 26 May in Italy) is gaining momentum. The focus is on young people, on social media as an effective way to spread ideas, on personal stories that connect so many young people to Europe. In this electoral campaign, which is no longer directed only in control rooms, people participate, like in a game, the “ground game”: in the first step, people join the campaign www.thistimeimvoting.eu, ask their friends to get involved and share the “link”, and may decide to become “ambassadors” for the campaign and for Europe. The European Parliament Office in Italy announced that “many people have already joined” and invited people to participate in the streamed event “From West to East” on 16 October. It will be an opportunity to reflect on this first stage of the campaign with the young ambassadors already involved and, in particular, with some of those who, by sharing links, have already managed to build a network of people via the platform #thistimeimvoting. The streaming at https://www.facebook.com/parlamento.europeo.italia/ will start at 10.30. “This time it’s not enough to just hope for a better future. So this time we’re not just asking you to vote, we’re also asking you to help to persuade others to vote too. Because when everybody votes, everybody wins”, MEP Guy Verhofstadt recently wrote.
