Vladimir Putin in triumph with 76.7% of votes: it was the result of yesterday’s elections throughout the Russian Federation, where 67.4% of electors attended the 97 thousand polling stations from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The confirmed President received consent from about 55 million people, many more than the ones expected by surveys. The data are the ones made known this morning, when the scrutiny has reached 99.8% of the polling stations. The second one in this competition was Pavel Grudinin (Communist Party) with 11.8% of votes. Vladimir Zhirinovsky (Liberal Democratic Party) got just 5.6%; Ksenia Sobchak (Civic Initiative) 1.67%; Grigory Yavlinsky (Yabloko) 1.04%; Boris Titov (Party of Growth) 0.76%; Maxim Suraikin (Communists of Russia) 0.68%; and Sergei Baburin (All People’s Union) 0.65%. In Crimea, Putin got 92%, in Chechnya over 91%, and in Dagestan 90%. However, in Moscow and Saint Petersburg, the cornerstone cities where consensus was supposed to diminish, Putin got 71% and 75% of votes, respectively. The average was slightly decreased by some regions in the far east such as Sakha (64%), or in the south, such as the Amur Oblast, Khabarovsk Krai, and Altai Republic. However, in those areas, the percentage did not go below 63% of consensus. According to the Ministry of the Interior of the Federation, everything was carried out with the utmost correctness. On the other hand, yesterday evening, the TASS Agency wrote about reports of fraud denounced by Zhirinovsky. In the 2012 elections Putin got 63.6% of consensus. This is the fourth mandate for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
