“Pray for me and for my ecumenical pilgrimage to Geneva tomorrow”. Pope Francis asked this to the 13,000 faithful present in St Peter’s square today, in his greetings to the German-speaking pilgrims. Indeed, tomorrow Pope Francis will leave for his 23rd apostolic journey and will visit the 35th country of his pontificate. The apostolic journey, in the Pope’s intentions, is an ecumenical pilgrimage during which he will visit the World Council of Churches (WCC) in Geneva.
In his greetings to the faithful, the Pope also greeted the young people on the boat “Dar Mlodziezy”, who will sail the world before reaching Panama, where World Youth Day will take place next January.
